Okay.

Hopefully this will be the last time I have to revamp the guild website for a while. I apologize for not giving prior warning about any outages, but the changes were kind of a last minute thing (mainly I didn't know I was going to make them until a few minutes before I did). Having said that, here's some more information on the changes themselves and what else you can expect in the future.

First off, the new content management system should be a lot more friendly when it comes to interacting with our forums. In the simplest terms possible, this means that the site will actually remember who you are, if you want it to. This is a vast improvement over the previous system which not only required you to log in every time you visited the forums, but also had that trick login box on the home page. With the changes that have been made, it should be easier to log on, and stay logged on as you surf around the site.

Second, the new theme is an unfortunate result of my changing the content management system we were using. While it is currently not too bad, I'll probably be fine tuning it to fit my picky aesthetic preferences. One great feature of this new system is that it allows for complete re-theming of the site on a user-by-user basis. In short, you'll be able to pick the theme you like and customize how the site looks to you. Now, it'll take me a while to actually do all the work I need to do to get that part of the site set up. So for now you're stuck with this theme. But as soon as I iron out a few other issues, I'll get working on new themes.

Third, Item Stats. This has been something that has worked sporadically on this site for the past few years and as it's been suggested in the forums, I've decided to see what I can do to bring this dream to a reality. However, as with the themes, this will take some time to implement.

Fourth, the shoutbox has returned after its long sabbatical. I'll leave it up for a while, and if people actually use it then it will be a permanent feature on the site.

Finally, Cake.

Okay, I lied. There is no cake. But if you would like to make suggestions for features you would like to see on the website, Go HERE and let me know.

Edit - 11/7/08: Just in case some of you didn't get a chance to see the graphic that was displayed while the website was down, and you'd like to, you can find it HERE

If you haven't noticed by now, the website has changed once again. More information will be coming later... hopefully.
